In the series “Relative Velocity”, I use the equation for velocity (the product of the change in distance multiplied by the change in time) as a starting point for an inquiry into the nature of personal relationships, the failures and successes of human connection. The mathematical paradigm becomes a methodology for observing and quantifying the growth or contraction of my own most personal relationships as the distance and time between the parties fluctuates.
